The mission of ASBMT is to secure the highest quality of care for all blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapy patients. Providing guidelines for professional training is one of the key purposes of ASBMT.

As such, certification in blood and marrow transplantation would support this purpose and mission by defining and standardizing these requirements.

Current Goals

Complete and report on the feasibility of a certification program for clinical stem cell transplantation

In conjunction with #1, look toward establishing an ASBMT International Online Fellowship in Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation.

Finalize the proposal to establish a panel of dedicated case discussion leaders with subject matter expertise for the ASBMT Clinical Case Forum.

Finalize the plan to have a remote live streaming platform available for Tandem BMT meetings.

Complete the pilot development for a mobile APP for ASBMT Guidelines.

Complete and disseminate the slide deck for early referral.

Plan and progress development of an online course for HSCT in conjunction with ONS.

Ongoing Objectives

Determine the rationale and feasibility for a certification program.

Establish the ASBMT Institute as the home for online education.

Maintenance of Certification; transform the two ASBMT Practice Improvement Modules (PIMs) into fully functional “stand-alone” modules.

Extend continuing education (CE) to allied professionals.
